Statement in Solidarity with our AAPI Neighbors

The 34 organizations that comprise the Cultural Institutions Group (CIG) reside in and serve diverse audiences across New York City’s five boroughs and provide access to nearly 19 million New Yorkers and tourists annually.

As a coalition, we are saddened and outraged by the growing violence against the Asian community. It is on all of us to speak up against bigotry and protect our neighbors as these hate crimes, racism and xenophobia are an attack against all of us and the communities we serve.

The increasing horrific incidents of anti-Asian violence across the country highlights the continued work to be done across America. We stand in solidarity with our Asian American & Pacific Islander communities against the continued rising tide of racism and hate crimes.
