President & CEO of the Staten Island Museum Joins Association of Art Museum Directors

[New York, NY] -[December 17, 2025] – The Staten Island Museum is pleased to announce that Janice Monger, President & CEO, is a new member of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD), joining more than 200 of her peers from major art museums across North America. The Staten Island Museum is joining for the first time as an institutional member of this longstanding and well-respected professional organization. As a member of AAMD, Monger will collaborate with fellow directors to address critical issues facing art museums and promote best practices in museum operations and programming.
“I am excited to contribute and learn from AAMD in setting standards for best practices and shaping the future of art museums,” said Monger. “I am honored to join AAMD and connect the Staten Island Museum with peer institutions and colleagues across North America.”

Janice Monger has served as President and CEO of the Staten Island Museum since 2017. During her tenure, Monger has increased the museum’s operations, advanced a major capital expansion project, and deepened community impact through collections and exhibitions.
