More about our Honorees...
The 2025 honorees were Shaw-naé Dixon, the proprietor of Shaw-naé’s House and leading creative innovator and culinary talent, and The Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation for its exceptional support of Staten Island’s welfare and wellbeing. The museum was proud to work with Shaw-naé in 2024 for a “self-care” style brunch to honor women in healthcare as part of the Taking Care: The Black Angels of Sea View Hospital exhibition programming. SIM is thrilled to see Shaw-naé and Shaw-naé’s House restaurant and community space being highlighted city-wide and beyond. Most recently, Shaw-nae Dixon has been named a 2025 Staten Island Women of Achievement honoree by the Staten Island Advance.

The museum has been honored to work with the Teddy Atlas Foundation to provide STEM/STEAM programs at local schools for the last several years, especially Title 1 schools who often cannot afford such hands-on experiences without this assistance. The foundation continues to support Staten Islanders in everything from medical assistance programs and food pantries to education and music programs and reaches deeply into all aspects of Staten Islander’s lives.

If you were unable to attend but would like to make a contribution to the Staten Island Museum, please use the donate button below.
The museum sees nearly 13,000 school children a year and your generous support will go directly to sustaining that effort. Students get hands-on lessons in art, science, and history and for many it is their first trip to a museum. All classes are subsidized to make them affordable, and your help is essential.
Thank you for supporting the museum, its mission, and all those it serves.
The Staten Island Museum would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous and steadfast support of our gala and our mission:
