Access to Parking Lot 3 (P3), which is directly behind the Staten Island Museum, may be limited or off line from April 8 – May 2, 2024 due to ongoing work.  The Museum will be open to the public for regularly scheduled hours and school group visits.  We recommend parking in lots P4 (near the pond) or P1 (near the Children’s Museum). Stay up late and celebrate National Moth Week! Revel in the beauty and learn about the life cycles and habitats of moths.

Activities include:

  • Design your own set of moth wings and antennae to buzz around town!
  • Black Light Bonanza: Face Painting and Moth Making in the Glow Room by the Staten Island Children’s Museum
  • Cooper Keane and the Mobile Monarch Museum
  • Freshkills Park After Dark Science Activities: Bat & Moth, Deer Bed, and Midnight Smells
  • Moth specimens on display from the museum’s collection along with magnifying glasses to look closely
  • Night Walk to search the skies and see what insects find our light attractor appealing (bring your own flashlight!)
