Access to Parking Lot 3 (P3), which is directly behind the Staten Island Museum, may be limited or off line from April 8 – May 2, 2024 due to ongoing work. The Museum will be open to the public for regularly scheduled hours and school group visits. We recommend parking in lots P4 (near the pond) or P1 (near the Children’s Museum). Lambda Associates of Staten Island (LASI) was incorporated in April 1983 with a mission to “institute and promote a Social, Cultural, and Educational association on Staten Island for Gay Men and Women.” The organization celebrated its first anniversary with a dance at the Columbian Lyceum on October 8, 1983.

Join former board member Mitchell Grubler and other Lambda friends to learn about the power of joy and celebration as a tool for LGBTQ organizing in 1980s Staten Island.
