DESCRIPTION:Staten Island OutLOUD presents a virtual performance on the women’s suffrage movement with local historian Patricia Salmon\, Edwina Martin (Public Administrator of Richmond County) and Bonnie Bolstein (Island resident and descendant of suffragists). DESCRIPTION:Artist Antonia Perez will teach participants how to make and weave with plarn. Plarn is yarn that can be made from plastic bags. A simple cardboard loom will be used to make a woven plastic textile. Participants may be use the loom multiple times to combine separate weavings to create beautiful artworks or functional objects. Antonia Perez is a mixed-media artist who collects discarded household detritus and repurposes it into sculpture\, works on paper\, paintings and site-specific installations.
