When young lioness Violet is separated from her twin brother by a storm at sea\, she must find her way alone in an unknown country. Disguised as a boy\, she finds work helping a preposterous peacock win the love of the most graceful gazelle in town\, but it’s not long before Violet is torn between multiple masters\, and the whole menagerie is tangled in matters of the heart. Giachetti \nNote from IlluminArt Productions’ Theater for Young Audiences:\nIlluminArt Productions’ Theater for Young Audiences is dedicated to creating theatrical experiences for everyone and programming that works with varying abilities. One way of doing this is by having a sensory-friendly performance like “Lions in Illyria.” Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a welcoming and comfortable arts experience for people who are neurodivergent\, have sensory sensitivities or have other social\, learning\, or cognitive disabilities. Our production of “Lions” is already sensory friendly in nature\, having actors project and make any music or sound effects using their bodies or small instruments to reduce loud sounds and the need for microphones and utilizing the lighting of the space itself rather than utilizing stage lights and strobes.
