Support inquiry with primary sources found in the Staten Island Museum’s local history archive. Describe examples of the benefits of teaching with primary sources and identify key considerations for selecting primary sources for instructional use. Tour the Staten Island Museum and grounds of Snug Harbor.

Bringing the World Home: Art and Local History

CAE, in collaboration with the Staten Island Museum, present an interdisciplinary approach to enrich your art, science and history curricula through object-based analysis and skills to deconstruct paintings and historical documents. Tour the Museum with the Curator of Art, engage in a hands-on art-making workshop and receive resource materials to take back to your school.
