Join us for a FREE Educator Open House with the Staten Island Museum at Snug Harbor. Meet with Staten Island Museum education staff, mingle with colleagues, view the latest exhibitions, and learn about upcoming programs available for students and teachers. Educators who attend will receive a 10% discount for one school program, if they book during the event. Wine and cheese will be served.

In conjunction with the Archaeology Society of Staten Island, the Staten Island Museum will hold a day-long workshop for educators who wish to use objects and/or histories of ancient and global cultures in their curriculum. Hands-on workshops will be provided to learn more about the practice of archaeology, collections management and museum curating.

Describe examples of the benefits of teaching with primary sources and identify key considerations for selecting primary sources for instructional use. Tour the Staten Island Museum and grounds of Snug Harbor.

CAE, in collaboration with the Staten Island Museum, present an interdisciplinary approach to enrich your art, science and history curricula through object-based analysis and skills to deconstruct paintings and historical documents. Tour the Museum with the Curator of Art, engage in a hands-on art-making workshop and receive resource materials to take back to your school.
