Join us for a FREE Educator Open House with the Staten Island Museum at Snug Harbor. Meet with Staten Island Museum education staff, mingle with colleagues, view the latest exhibitions, and learn about upcoming programs available for students and teachers. Educators who attend will receive a 10% discount for one school program, if they book during the event.

Support inquiry with primary sources found in the Staten Island Museum’s local history archive. Describe examples of the benefits of teaching with primary sources and identify key considerations for selecting primary sources for instructional use. All educators welcome.

Tour the Staten Island Museum and grounds of Snug Harbor. Note: The Staten Island Museum’s CTLE certification is pending.

Made-For-You Professional Learning Workshops
Professional learnings offered at the Staten Island Museum or at your school are tailored to your school or department curriculum and needs.  During the workshop, SIM education staff share approaches to inquiry and document-based teaching strategies and assists educators in using the Museum’s collections to enrich the teaching of history, science and art.
