Actor’s Home, West Brighton.  Staten Island, N.Y.

WTD 3009

A postcard with a photograph, taken by William J. Grimshaw, of the Actor's Home that was located in West Brighton, Staten Island.  The mansion is the building in the background.  Martling's Pond is in the foreground and middleground.   The Actor's Home, which opened in 1902, was a retirement home for people working in the entertainment industry.  The City of New York took over the property in 1928 in order to expand Clove Lakes Park.  The mansion was demolished in 1938.
