Actor’s Home, West Brighton. Staten Island, N.Y.
A postcard with a photograph, taken by William J. Grimshaw, of the Actor's Home that was located in West Brighton, Staten Island. Martling's Pond is in the foreground. The Actor's Home, which opened in 1902, was a retirement home for people working in the entertainment industry. The City of New York took over the property in 1928 in order to expand Clove Lakes Park. The mansion was demolished in 1938.
