About Our Collections

Staten Island Museum’s permanent collections and archives encompass the fields of Art, Natural Science, and History. The Natural Science and History Collections and Archives are mainly dedicated to learning about and exploring Staten Island’s archaeological, environmental, and historical past. The Art Collection contains a vast array of artwork that spans from ancient civilizations to present works by Staten Islanders.

If you are interested in donating a collection item to the Museum, please email our Registrar & Collections Manager, Audrey Malachowsky or call 718.727.1135 x 108. Audrey will explain the collections acquisition process to you and will answer any questions that you may have. He will then forward you to the appropriate curator. Please do not bring any objects or archival items to the Museum or Archives without first making an appointment.

Our curators will be happy to attempt to identify any objects or archival items you may own. However, please make an appointment with the appropriate curator to meet with them at the museum or archives. Please do not bring any objects or archival items to the Museum or Archives without first making an appointment.

As per American Alliance of Museum guidelines, it is our policy to never give appraisals. Please contact the Appraisers Association of America or the American Society of Appraisers.
