The Lily Pond


An oil on canvas landscape painting of a lilly pond.  The water, with lilly pads clustered about, streches from the foreground to the background.  Forest surrounds the pond.

Anna Richards Brewster was the daughter of noted marine and landscape artist William Trost Richards.  She studied under Dennis Bunker at the Cowles Art School in Boston, under John LaFarge and William Merrit Chase in New York, and at the Academy Julian in Paris.  Brewester travelled extensively throughout the world for her trade.
