The Hawk and the Mouse

A signed artist's proof etching with brown and green aquatints of a hawk and a mouse. 

Jack Coughlin (1932- ) was born in Greenwich, CT, and he currently resides in Wellfleet, MA.  He is primarily known as a printmaker, but he also has painted, drawn, and worked in low relief bronze sculptures.  Coughlin is Professor Emeritus of Art at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  He studied at the Art Students League in New York, and he received a B.F.A. and a M.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design.  Coughlin's work has been exhibited in the United States and Europe, and his work is in the collections of museums in the United States and Europe.
