Old Woman Sleeping


An etching depicting an old woman who has fallen asleep reading a book.  She is holding her head with her left hand and her reading glasses with her right.   Bartsch catalog #350.  The collectors mark of Robert Deighton is in the upper right corner.

Rembrandt was not only a master painter painter, but he was also a master of etchings.  His etchings span most of his career and take on a wide array of subjects, just like his paintings.
