Lighthouse off Conanicut, R.I.


Landscape view, completed on July 31, 1869, of a beach with lighthouse on the horizon.  Located in Conanicut, Rhode Island.

William Trost Richards was a noted landscape artist from Philadelphia who was active for over fifty years.  Richards studied under William Stanley Haseltine and Paul Weber.  His early watercolors and pencil drawings are his best and most important works.
