About Our Collections
Staten Island Museum’s permanent collections and archives encompass the fields of Art, Natural Science, and History. The Natural Science and History Collections and Archives are mainly dedicated to learning about and exploring Staten Island’s archaeological, environmental, and historical past. The Art Collection contains a vast array of artwork that spans from ancient civilizations to present works by Staten Islanders.
If you are interested in donating a collection item to the Museum, please email our Senior Registrar & Collections Manager, Michael Dressler or call him at 718.727.1135. Michael will explain the collections acquisition process to you and will answer any questions that you may have. He will then forward you to the appropriate curator. Please do not bring any objects or archival items to the Museum or Archives without first making an appointment.
