Why did medieval artists use gold for the backgrounds of altarpieces? Why was gold almost universally used to embellish holy images around the world? How did they make these images? The Gold-Ground workshop will answer these and other questions, and give you first-hand experience with the materials and processes of making your own gold-ground artwork. No prior experience is necessary! All materials provided.
