“’I am number...’ is a human interest documentary web-series chronicling the individual experience of men subjected to the US Selective Service Draft during the Vietnam War Era (1955-1975).” The premise of the project is that the Draft reduced men to their selective service number, but the practice of re-telling history seeks to create a narrative based on the perspective and significance of the individual in the events of the past. “I am number…” staffers will introduce their project through videos and the personal testimony of veterans, and recruit new veterans to be interviewed for oral histories.
