In connection to our exhibition Constructions of Conscience: The Social Art of Susan Grabel

Since ancient times sound as the primordial vibration has been intimately woven with the divine feminine. Join us this Mother's Day weekend in this sound healing circle surrounded by the conscientious artwork of Susan Grabel. Participants can feel free to relax and receive the sounds as well as join in as we co-create this sacred soundscape and  meditate.

Sound healing is a powerful and ancient technique using voice, instruments and vibrational frequencies to create a deep sense of tranquility, well-being and invoke a meditative state. Quartz crystal singing bowls are healing instruments that align the mind, body and spirit.  The harmonic resonance emanating from the crystal singing bowls offer attunement by opening, clearing, and re-balancing the energy centers of the body.  Since the crystalline structure of our bodies is composed of silica and water the bowls heal at a cellular level.

Jvala Devi has spent most of the last fourteen years in India, studying and practicing Kundalini Yoga, meditation, Sanskrit and the ancient yogic practices of sound (Vagyoga) with her Guru Vagish Shastri and also living in caves in the remote Himalayas. Jvala is a certified sound healer who trained with internationally known sound healer Tom Kenyon.  She has studied with Taoist master Chen of Wu Dang Mountain, China, for five years. She currently resides in Taos, New Mexico.
