Summer Nights is a series of events for the culturally minded who like to have fun. From leather working to beginner embroidery and an Island-wide scavenger hunt, and an Eclipse party complete with Karaoke Tremendous, the Museum has your Thursday nights planned for the summer.

Summer Glow: Scrubs and Salves
Thursday, July 13, 7:30pm-9:30pm
A hands-on class with Joanne Colagiacomi demonstrating how to make your own salves and scrubs using simple ingredients. You’ll leave with the products and knowledge to continue creating your own natural body products at home. For guests 21+. Admission includes 2 drink tickets. Registration recommended, walk-ins welcome space permitting.
A Stitch in Time: Intro to Embroidery
Thursday, July 20, 7:30pm-9:30pm
$25/$20 membersIn this beginner friendly class you’ll get a hands-on rundown of the basics of embroidery. Master a few simple stitches and you’ll have the skills to create original works of art of all sizes! Embroider a handkerchief while learning about the long history of this oft overlooked accessory with artist Juliet Hinely. For guests 21+. Admission includes 2 drink tickets. Shore to Shore Scavenger Hunt
Thursday, July 27, 7:30pm-9:30pm (Check-in is at 7:00pm)
$25/$20 members; $75 for teams of 4 or more in the same car
Join us for this unique scavenger hunt on four wheels! Guests use clues leading them to sites of recent and bygone historical significance that “used to be” but have disappeared or changed in appearance. In order to get around to each site, teams will need a car. The first team back at the Museum after solving all the clues and posting them to social media will win a prize! Short reception for all participants will follow. *Each participating car must be equipped with enough seatbelts for all players. All laws must be strictly obeyed otherwise teams face immediate disqualification. Open to all ages, registration recommended. Please arrive at 7:00pm to check-in, the hunt begins at 7:30pm sharp.
Leatha Togetha: Beginners Leather Tooling

Participants will join Clay Wollney to learn the basics of leather tooling with including how to draw, transfer, cut, tool, and finish their project. Take home your truly unique piece of art. Shine On: Painting with Gold
Thursday, August 10, 7:30pm-9:30pm
$25/$20 Museum Members
Why did medieval artists use gold in their work? How did they make these images? And is it still used today? The “24 karat” workshop will answer these and other questions, and give you first-hand experience with the materials and processes of making your own gold-ground artwork. Solar Eclipse of the Heart: Party at the Museum

Close out the summer with the solar eclipse! Celebrate with us as we prepare for the first solar eclipse in the US in 38 years. Guests are encouraged to wear white, black, or space costumes as we party with Karaoke Tremendous (Lord Easy), astrological readings, dancing, art making, and film! Free food, cash beer and wine bar.
